| Biological effects of Medilaser Scan |
• Effect on microcirculation and blood vessels
Lasers induce improvements in local microcisrculation that include relief from local spasm of the
arteriolar and venular vessels the intensification of blood flow in the nutritional capillaries, the
opening of anastomoses and the activation od neo-angiogenesis processes. Low power laser
therapy also inhits the increase of vascular permeability during acute inflammations.
• Anti-inflammatory effect
Numerous studies have shown that laser tratment, acting on a numner of different cellular and
biochemical components of an inflammation, can have a significant effect on the histological,
biological and clinical inflammation parameters in patients with such reactions.
• Bio-stimulant and tissural regeneration effect
Recent studies have demonstrated significant stimulation effect on both connective tissue and the
general mechanisms involved in tissular regeneration. The primary biological effect of visible
lasers on the connective tissue is the rapid proliferation of fibroblasts in cellular cultures irradiated
with visible lasers with myo-fibroblasts being formed from fibroblasts.
• Immuno-modulating effect
The human immune system activates a defense mechanism against esogenes or endogenes, such as
bacteria and viruses, which are potentially dangerous for the body.
• Placebo effect
It should be underlined that a number od studies have concluded that the use of infrared lasers in
pain treatment may produce a significant placebo response that is worth taking into consideration.
• Effect on peripheral nervous system (antalgic and regenerative effect)
Numerous studies carried out both on patients and in the test tubes have shown that low energy
laser irradiation can have biological effects on the central and peripheral nervous system and on
his functions, increasing neuronal metabolism, re-establishing normal neuro-physiological
activity, preventing neuronal degeneration and stimulating the repairing and functioning capacity
of the spinal cord and pripheral nerves.
• Enzymatic photo-activation effect
A photon can activate an enzymatic molecule that, in turn, can activate a biological process. |
